Wollongong Pugs is a group of friendly pugs and their humans that meet up at Figtree Park on the 2nd Sunday of every month.
Wollongong Pugs started regular pug meets back in May 2014 and has met every month since, with the exception of bad weather cancelling some meet ups. The very first pug meet was held at Coniston Beach in Wollongong before moving to the regular Figtree Park. Up until 2019, the group met on the 1st Sunday of each month and began with just a handful of pugs but now will get more than 30 pugs for Pugoween each year.
Wollongong Pugs caters not just for the Wollongong area but surrounding areas on the NSW South Coast as well as going further north with pugs & their humans travelling from Campbelltown, Sutherland and even further just to hang with the #gongpugcrew.
Wollongong Pugs is becoming well known for their annual Pugoween event where by pugs & their humans dress in their best Halloween outfits in the name of raising money for charity and just having some plain ol’ fun. 2019 will see the 4th annual Pugoween fundraiser taking place on Sunday 27th October 2019.
As of January 2019, Wollongong Pugs have raised $2,924 for charities including Pug Patrol Rescue Australia, Oscar’s Law, Pugs SOS and Saffron on the Hill Pug Rescue.
